Have you ever considered a Team Building exercise for your group, company or organization?
Offered from either our Homestead location at the Dante Fascell Visitor Center, or our Dinner Key location in Coconut Grove, we have the Team Building program for you.
“Biodiversity Detectives” Scavenger Hunt:
- Activity: Teams are given a list of marine life, bird species, or plant types to spot and identify during the tour and any island stops.
- Team Building Element: Encourages keen observation, communication, shared knowledge, and friendly competition.
This program highlights the park’s diverse ecosystems and promotes ecological literacy.
“Stiltsville Storytellers” Challenge:
- Activity: After a Stiltsville Guided Tour, teams are tasked with creating a short narrative, skit, or visual presentation about the history of Stiltsville, the people who lived there, or its significance performed at nearby Boca Chita Key. They could be given historical clues or prompts.
- Team Building Element: Encourages creativity, research, public speaking, and collaborative storytelling.
This program highlights the park’s unique cultural history and encourages interpretation.
“Key Discovery” Expedition (Boca Chita Key, Elliott Key, or Adams Key):
- Activity: Upon landing on one of the Keys, teams are given a series of tasks related to the island’s history, ecology, or recreational opportunities (e.g., find specific historical markers, identify local flora etc).
- Team Building Element: Requires navigation, problem-solving, task delegation, and appreciation for the natural environment.
This program showcases the Keys as integral parts of the park and encourages outdoor exploration.
“Trash Pick Up” Challenge (Boca Chita Key, Elliott Key)
- Activity: Upon landing on one of the Keys, teams are given garbage bags, gloves, and mechanical grabbers. Points for the team that collects the most trash and the weirdest item. Trash is weighed at the end of the designated time.
- Team Building Element: Requires problem solving, task delegation and appreciation for the natural environment.
“Obstacle Course Challenge”
- Activity: Group is broken up into teams of 4 people, then broken into 2 groups of 2.
Blind kayaking obstacle course relay:
The person in the front needs to guide the blind-folded paddler in the back around the course we set up handing off a kayak paddle to the relay team’s kayak. Team to complete course first gets points.
3 Legged Snorkeling obstacle course relay:
Teams of 2 will have their inner legs strapped together while trying to swim together with fins on to hand off the relay baton to their partner team. Team to complete course first gets points.
Fish ID team challenge:
Each team will have the same 10 Fish species to identify at a snorkel site in a 30 minute period. The team with the most fish identified in the 10 minute period wins points.
Team with the most points wins.
