As per CDC and NPS guidance, facial coverings are not required only when the COVID-19 community transmission levels are low or medium. Please check local community transmission levels near the time of your trip to determine the best precautions to take against COVID-19.
The safety of our visitors and crew is our highest priority. We have worked closely with Biscayne National Park management to create operating procedures that will reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission.

For the safety of all our visitors and staff, if you are sick or have flu-like symptoms please do not book a Biscayne National Park Institute activity until you are certain you are no longer contagious. Prior to booking and your arrival please review the following questions:
Do you have a fever, or have you felt feverish in the past 7 days?
Are you having shortness of breath or other difficulties with breathing?
Do you have a cough or sore throat?
Any other flu-like symptoms such as gastrointestinal upset, headache, or fatigue?
Have you experienced a recent loss of taste or smell?
Have you been in contact with any confirmed COVID-19 positive patients?
If your answer is “yes” to any of the above questions you will not be permitted to participate in a Biscayne National Park Institute activity. If prior to your visit you know that you will answer “yes,” please call (786) 465-4058 or email us at [email protected] and we will cancel your reservation.
If you are renting masks and snorkels for snorkeling programs, all equipment undergoes a 3-step sanitation process after each use. We encourage you to bring your own snorkel gear. There is no snorkel gear available for purchase in the parks store.
We require that each person wears a brightly colored swim vest while snorkeling. These vests help our crew watch you while you are in the water. There is an inflation feature on these vests that can help with flotation. If you would like additional flotation, please request a pool noodle from the captain. We encourage you to bring a personal swim vest if you own one. Vests and pool noodles are sanitized after each use.
